feeling better/37 weeks

I've felt better each day since Monday and am returning to work today. I must have just had a nasty little stomach bug. Thank you for all your kind words and phone calls the past few days. It has been nice to stay home from work and rest, but I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel yet. If I began my leave this week, it would cut my maternity leave 3 weeks short (or more if I go past my due date), so I'm hoping to hang in there until at least the end of next week. And if I haven't had her by my due date, I'm definitely planning to stop work then.

I saw the doctor yesterday and still show no signs of labor. I'll see him twice a week now, next on Monday, end of day, then on Thursday. I'm hoping not to go into labor this weekend because he's out of town and he practices alone. Of course, there's a doctor that covers for him while he's out, but I've never met him. Here's what's going on with baby girl this week.

37 weeks
Congratulations — your baby is full term! This means that if your baby arrives now, his lungs should be fully mature and ready to adjust to life outside the womb, even though your due date is still three weeks away. Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

We are so happy to hear that you are feeling better. That's great news. I'll just have to tell the kids they have to wait a few more days until their new baby cousin is here. My advice to you as always, get as much sleep and rest as you can. Not much longer....we are excited!!!! Love ya all!!!
