ho, ho, oh no!
Libby loves the stuffed Santa ornament on our Christmas tree. She's learned to say "ho, ho, ho," whenever she sees Santa (actually, she says "oh, oh, oh"—so cute). And the girl hardly ever meets a stranger; she's such an outgoing, easygoing kid. So we were optimistic that she might actually like sitting on Santa's lap this year, unlike all her 1-year-old peers. We were wrong.
As soon as Kevin handed her to Santa, she started wailing. She settled down pretty quickly, as you can see from the photos, but she never really warmed up to Santa. Last year, at 4 months, she was oblivious, just chillin' in Santa's lap. And I'm sure she'll be Santa's biggest fan next year. I guess this year's tears are just a rite of passage!

Oh Libby, please don't cry!
You will love Santa next year, I promise!
We love you, Merry Christmas
Katie sat on Ho Ho's lap happily in 2004 and very suspiciously (with both parents at her side) in 2005. For the four years since then, she hasn't gone near Mr. Claus. And I don't think she intends to change anytime soon. (He IS kinda creepy, is he not?)
